1.5 How will your staff react?

If establishing a website will mean a major change in the culture of your organisation e.g. how orders are taken and fulfilled, a reduction in the number of employees, or technology that staff must become familiar with, then you must not forget to illicit their support for the new venture. Without it, you may be doomed to failure. Offer suitable training, involve them in design and usability issues, and give them a sense of ownership of the new project - show them how it will benefit both the business and them as employees!
